Legacy Builder: Michael Kitces The director of financial planning for Pinnacle Advisory Group and editor of the Kitces Report, he founded NexGen, the interest group for younger advisors.
Technology Wizard: Myra Salzer The founder of The Wealth Conservancy, she founded Executor's Resource and Estate Logic, a highly secure suite of online services designed to help advisors and clients secure the documents that are essential for maintaining and transferring wealth.
Practice Management Guru: Sheryl Garrett The founder of The Garrett Planning Network, she has espoused a fee-oriented model that recognizes the value of financial planning as a profession.
Contributor of the Year: Marilyn Capelli Dimitroff The president of Capelli Financial Services Inc., Dimitroff (left) was honored for her work on the Financial Planning Coalition and her advocacy for financial planners as a member of the CFP Board.
The event was hosted by Tim Whiting, Financial Planning's publisher, and Marion Asnes, the magazine's editor-in-chief.
The awards, which were sponsored by New York Life and MainStay Investments, were given to six practitioners that have made significant contributions to the financial planning profession. One winner, Louis P. Stanasolovich, was not at the event.
