Wells Fargo Securities has named Cronin McTigue as the new head of liquid products sales and trading in its fixed income group.

Company officials said McTigue, who brings nearly 23 years of trading experience to this new position, will be responsible for developing trading and distribution capabilities in liquid products including treasuries, swaps and options for the firm’s institutional investing clients.

McTigue will report to Tim Mullins, head of fixed income trading, and Walter Dolhare, head of fixed income sales, at Wells Fargo Securities.

“Expanding our rates presence is the next step in strengthening our product offerings that support the risk management needs of our institutional clients,” Mullins said in a statement. “Cronin is an experienced leader who brings deep market experience and strong customer relationships to our platform.”

Since August 2010, McTigue traded U.S. Government Bonds at Citibank. Prior to that, he held several trading positions, most recently at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he first led the swaps trading efforts and was later responsible for the U.S. Agency Desk.
