Veteran Wells Fargo advisors with $225 million in client assets have moved to the independent channel of Raymond James, Raymond James said.

Gregory Weggeman and R. Peter Dales, operating as ClearTrack Financial Advisors, had $1.6 million in annual production before making the move, according to Raymond James.

Weggeman, now managing partner at ClearTrack, started his career at Wayne Hummer 38 years ago before moving to Blunt Ellis & Loewi, a predecessor of Wells Fargo Advisors, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records.

Joining Weggeman as managing partner is Dales who started his career as a corporate banker for Bank of America in 1994 and later became an investment banker at the bank’s securities arm, Raymond James said. Dales moved to Wachovia Securities, a Wells Fargo predecessor, as a financial advisor in 2006, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records.

Taking charge of ClearTrack’s investment strategy is investment executive and portfolio manager, Theodore Baszler, who has more than 22 years of industry experience. Baszler previously worked at Pavek Investments, Heartland Advisors, Heartland Investor Services and Alps Distributors before joining ClearTrack, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records.

“Raymond James experts have helped us structure a practice with three seasoned professionals, which we expect to become one of the leading advisory firms in our marketplace,” Weggeman said in a statement.

Office manager Julie Puksich and relationship manager Jennifer Buttram have also joined ClearTrack from Wells Fargo, the statement said.

“We are delighted to welcome this exceptional team of Greg, Pete, Ted, Jenny and Julie to our independent channel,” said David Sisemore, Midwest regional director of Raymond James. “We are very happy they chose to partner with us as they continue to build and grow their practice with our broad platform and support.”

Wells Fargo declined to comment on the team’s departure.
