Washington Wealth Management hired a $1 million producer from Scott & Stringfellow as part of the four-month old firm’s aggressive expansion strategy.

The Middleburg, Va., based wealth manager announced Wednesday that it added E. Lee Pinney Jr., a 30-year veteran of the financial services industry and a top producer in the Richmond area for over 25 years. Pinney will serve as the managing director of Washington Wealth Managementʼs new Richmond branch, the firmʼs second branch to open since its launch in December.

Pinney was a senior managing director at Scott & Stringfellow, where he worked for 19 years, first breaking the $1 million mark in 1995.

Washington Wealth is a registered investment advisory firm that was created by Tony Sirianni, a 20-year veteran of the financial services industry, to offer financial advisers the opportunity to break away from the traditional wirehouse relationship.

“I think you will find that we offer a very different approach to financial services: one that places the interests of our clients above all else,” Sirianni said. “We believe the relationship an individual financial adviser has with a client is paramount, regardless of account size.” He continued, “An example, is our policy of not including excessive fees and transaction charges every step of the way. Those things hurt the relationship with the client over time and place the adviser in a difficult situation.”

The opening of the Richmond branch marks the second branch the firm has opened since launching three months ago. The first branch is located in Middleburg.

“We are proud of our quick expansion and the opening of this second branch,” said Ross Wilkinson, Washington Wealth’s director of development. “Weʼve launched two branches since we started in December, and weʼre hopeful to be adding several more in the coming months.”
