UBS Wealth Management Americas has hired Bank of America Merrill Lynch advisor Timothy W. McNamara to its Williamsville, N.Y. office.

McNamara previously had $75 million in assets and fees and $950 million in assets under management. McNamara has been registered with UBS since April 28, according to Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records. Before that, he served at Merrill Lynch from September 1978 through this year, FINRA records show. McNamara reports to UBS branch manager Jeffrey Fancher.

McNamara’s appointment comes as UBS has been on a wealth management hiring streak in the U.S., having recently also added new financial advisors to offices in California, New York and Ohio. UBS’ wealth management Americas division had a total advisor head count of 6,811 for the first quarter, according to the firm, and has reached the lowest advisor attrition since before the beginning of the financial crisis.
