UBS has hired two advisors from rival, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, for its Manasquan, N.J., office.

The advisors, Richard G. Hausler and Lawrence B. Jay, will report to Matthew Wojcik, the branch manager for the New Jersey office. Hausler and Jay have a trailing production of $1.5 million with have $225 million in assets under management.

Hausler, 52, is registered with nine self-regulatory organizations and in nine states, according to FINRA Broker-Check. He worked for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney from June 2009 and at Citigroup Global Markets from 2003 to 2009. Before that, he worked for Merrill Lynch from 1986 to 2003.

Jay, 43, followed a similar path, according to Broker-Check records. Also registered with nine SROs and in 10 states, Jay worked at Citi from 2004 to June 2009 before becoming part of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. He worked at Merrill Lynch from 1998 to 2004.
