Stifel, Nicolaus & Co. has added a former Morgan Stanley financial advisor who managed more than $250 million in client assets.

Kurt Uzbay joined Stifel’s Oyster Bay, N.Y., private client group office this month. He previously had been with Morgan, where he oversaw more than $100 million in individual client assets and $150 million for institutional clients.

Working from Oyster Bay, Uzbay will focus on serving clients in New York’s Long Island area, as well as nationally, said Michael Sullivan, a managing director and eastern region director for the private client group at Stifel.

Stifel, based in St. Louis, was founded in 1890. The firm’s advisors manage a total of $156 billion.
