Stifel hired a Raymond James branch manager to help lead its recruiting efforts in Texas, a spokesman has confirmed.
Eleanor Jordan joined Stifel's office in Austin, where she will oversee 17 advisers in that office as well as another office in nearby Corpus Cristi, the spokesman told On Wall Street for an exclusive report.
Both Stifel and Raymond James have been aggressively recruiting. The regional BDs have typically been pulling over wirehouse teams, and have recently netted recruiting wins.
Earlier this month, Raymond James, based in St. Petersburg, Florida, hired a Morgan Stanley adviser that oversaw $173 million in client assets. Last month, St. Louis-based Stifel grabbed two wirehouse teams managing over $800 million in client assets.
Jordan highlighted Stifel's momentum as one of her reasons for switching firms, saying in a statement that the regional BD "is in full-growth mode."
"We are excited to build out our Austin and Corpus Christi footprint under [Jordan's] leadership," John Pierce, head of Advisor Recruitment at Stifel, said in a statement.
Pierce says the latter location has open slots for new advisers that they are looking to fill soon.
Jordan started her career at Morgan Keegan in 1999, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records. She stayed with the brokerage following its acquisition by Raymond James in 2013.
A Raymond James spokeswoman confirmed Jordan's departure.
