Raymond James this week said financial advisors John Nice, Brian Trujillo, Steven Ringquist and Bradley Trujillo, collectively working as The Nice Group, have joined the firm’s office in Denver.
“We are thrilled to welcome such an accomplished team to Raymond James,” Pat Allison, division director of Raymond James & Associates, said in a statement. “They all are extremely talented, with a proven track record and bring extensive experience to our firm. We could not ask for a stronger group to join the Raymond James family in Denver.”
Nice, Ringquist and the Trujillo brothers came to Raymond James from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, where they managed more than $220 million in assets and had annual fees and commissions of $1.7 million. They are joined by their registered sales associate, Michelle TerHark.
“We put a great deal of time and effort into researching firms to find the best possible partner,” Brian Trujillo said in the statement. “As we conducted our due diligence, one name kept rising to the top: Raymond James. Most of our team has spent our entire career at one firm, so this is not a move that we made without extensive research and deliberation.”
“The confidence that our clients place in us drives every decision we make, and there arrived a point at which we recognized we needed to seek a new partner to continue to deliver the quality, unbiased advice that they rely on,” he added.
A senior vice president for investments, Nice has over 40 years of experience in the industry, having begun his career with E.F. Hutton.
Ringquist, a vice president for investments, has been in the industry 14 years. He focuses on utilizing asset allocation analysis to create efficient portfolios that are customized to match each client's risk and return requirements.
Brian Trujillo, also a vice president for investments, is also a certified financial planner with 11 years of industry experience.
Financial advisor Brad Trujillo joined the industry five years ago following his graduation from Metropolitan State College in Denver with a degree in finance. He focuses on helping his clients meet goals such as retirement, college funding, income planning and estate planning and has extensive knowledge of employer-sponsored retirement plans.
TerHark supports the team in administrative duties and customer service. She has a background in pension administration and is very familiar with the procedural requirements and mechanics of IRA rollovers, distributions and reporting requirements.
Larry Barrett writes for Financial Planning.
