Raymond James has recently expanded its consumer and retail investment banking team to prepare for increased market activity amid a gradual economic recovery, according to investment banking co-head Jim McDaniel.

Bob Berry, most recently co-head of the firm’s mergers and acquisitions group, now heads the consumer and retail group, and is joined by three senior mergers and acquisitions bankers, Christine Albertelli, Brian McDermott and Dan Fairweather.

Berry, Albertelli and Fairweather are based in Raymond James’ Boston office, and are former executives of Lane Berry, which Raymond James acquired in May 2009. McDermott is based at the company’s headquarters in St. Petersburg, Fla.

These additions complement the San Francisco-based consumer and retail group, led by managing director Laura Provenzale.
