Janney Montgomery Scott has recruited a branch manager with almost two decades of experience that he gained working for Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers.

Doran Young most recently worked as a business director for Lifetime Financial Growth, a financial services firm with its own brokerage, and joins Janney to build its presence in the Midwest, according to the firm. He will work from Janney's Columbus, Ohio, office, as both a vice president and non-producing branch manager.

Young, prior to joining Lifetime, worked for Merrill Lynch from 2006 to 2013. At Merrill, Young worked as a director of business development at a complex consisting of 80 advisors, five offices, $42 million in revenues and $4.6 billion in total assets, a Janney spokeswoman says.

He also was a branch manager for Lehman Brothers from 1984 to 1995, according to Janney.  The firm notes that Young is the third generation from his family to live and work in the Columbus area.

Last month, Janney also lured two Morgan Stanley advisors managing $700 million in combined assets.
