Janney Montgomery Scott lured away an advisor team from J.P. Morgan.
Advisors Dan Carney and Stuart Peterson moved over to Janney in South Kingstown, R.I., where they opened a new office for the firm. Also joining them is Beth Friedman, a branch operations assistant, and Paula Cummings, a registered private client assistant.
The team will report to Steve Pitassi, branch manager of Janney's Providence, R.I., office.
Carney, who has more than 30 years of industry experience, joined Janney as satellite branch manager and senior vice president of wealth management. Carney started his career with E.F. Hutton in 1977, and later worked at Bear Stearns and J.P. Morgan Securities, according to FINRA records.
Peterson had been with J.P. Morgan since 2010. Prior to that he worked at Morgan Stanley.
J.P. Morgan has recently lost talent to Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management and Morgan as well. An advisor team managing $175 million in assets and generating $2.1 million in production left J.P. Morgan for Morgan Stanley on October 14.
