Janney has added two former Morgan Stanley advisors and a branch manager from Ameriprise to its ranks.

Industry veterans Alfred DeRenzis and Scott Ford joined in the Baltimore, Md., office from Morgan Stanley, and former Ameriprise manager Gregg Torretta joined in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

DeRenzis and Ford oversee around $159 million in assets and join as senior vice president/wealth management and first vice president/wealth management, respectively. They will operate as the DeRenzis Ford Group having worked together since their days at Legg Mason.

DeRenzis, who started his career at Legg mason 32 years ago, has also worked with Citigroup and was at Morgan Stanley since 2009. Ford has 25 years of experience spread across the same firms.

“With more than 50 years of combined industry experience, Al and Scott will be a catalyst to continued strategic expansion locally and within the Mid-Atlantic Region,” Jerry Lombard, president of the firm’s private client group, said in a statement.

Former Ameriprise branch manager Greg Torretta will now serve as the branch manager for Janney’s Fort Lauderdale, Fla., branch. He brings almost 30 years of industry experience and reports to regional manager Michael Levin.

“Greg is a well-respected leader in the South Florida region and brings with him a level of experience and knowledge that will be valued as we continue to capitalize on growth opportunities,” Levin said.

So far this year, the firm has added around 17 of what it calls “top-tier” advisors and recently pulled two from Stephens and another duo from Morgan Stanley
