Fieldpoint Private Bank & Trust hired Paul C. Guidone to be its chief investment officer.

The Greenwich, Conn., based company hopes that Guidone's experience will help Fieldpoint expand its business.

Guidone has more than 30 years' experience in the investment management industry. He is currently an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University in Nashville where he teaches investment analysis. He is also the chief investment officer of Linden Point Capital Management, a boutique hedge fund in New Jersey.

Before that, he was the chief investment officer at Citigroup Global Wealth Management, where he was responsible for the investment activities for all of Citigroup Private Bank and Smith Barney Private Client totaling $1.3 trillion in assets under management. He was also a member of Citi’s management committee and a senior member of Citi’s pension investment committee.

Prior to Citi, Guidone was a managing director and chief investment officer at J&W Seligman, a privately owned investment advisory firm offering mutual funds and investment advisory services. Before that, he was deputy chairman and group CEO at HSBC Asset Management in London. Before that, he was group chief investment officer at HSBC, where he also served as an executive director of HSBC Investment Bank's main board.
