Edward Jones has added UMA Models to its advisory platform for its 12,000 advisers, Edward Jones Advisory Solutions.

Managed Portfolio Advisors, a division of Natixis Asset Management Advisors, and Vestmark are providing overlay management to the mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and separately managed accounts that will be included in the UMAs. Edward Jones’ research department will handle asset allocation and investment selection, as well as automated threshold rebalancing. The UMA Models also offer tax efficient management, such as wash sale management and regular tax-loss harvesting.

“The addition of UMA Models means we can now offer our clients an even wider array of investment choices within our primary advisory program,” said Bill Broderick, a principal with Edward Jones responsible for investment advisory services. “The features that are part of the UMA Models will enhance a very successful program and offer tangible benefits to our clients.”

Curt Overway, MPA president, added, “The combined forces of Edward Jones, Vestmark and MPA make this a noteworthy launch of a truly cutting-edge program. Edward Jones has a great record of delivering exceptional advisory programs to their clients, and Vestmark is a superb technology platform that enables us to deliver customized, tax-managed overlay management to clients.”
