BNY Mellon Wealth Management has promoted Myriam Soto and Douglas Schaenen to new managing director positions aimed at helping to boost the business’ plans for international growth.

Soto now serves as managing director of International Wealth Advisory Services, where she will be responsible for new business development strategy. Soto is also president and director to the firm’s Cayman trust company.

Schaenen now serves as managing director and regional head of international wealth management in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In that role, he will lead the development of that region’s wealth management business and certain wealth management relationships. Schaenen previously served as head of the firm’s international wealth management Middle East region.

Both Soto and Schaenen report to BNY Mellon Managing Director Paul B. Finn.

“These roles will enhance International Wealth Management’s global competitiveness and underscore our commitment to expanding into new markets,” BNY Mellon International Wealth Management head Peter Moertl said in a statement. “In their new roles, Myriam and Doug will work closely with other BNY Mellon businesses to bring a wider range of services and products to all our clients.”

BNY Mellon Wealth Management’s clients include endowments, foundations, charitable gift programs, individuals and families and their family offices and businesses. Its services include private banking, investment management and estate and wealth planning.
