Barclays Wealth hired two executives as it continues to expand in New York.
The company hired Donald Gershuny as a managing director and general counsel, Americas; and Peter Reynolds as a managing director and chief risk officer, Americas.
Gershuny has strong regulatory and banking experience over the past four decades in financial services including 34 years at Merrill Lynch. Most recently, he was general counsel for global wealth management at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In that position, he was responsible for all legal, regulatory and compliance services for wealth management.
Previously, Gershuny held several senior roles at the firm including international general mounsel, responsible for legal, compliance and regulatory affairs for wealth management, capital markets, commercial and investment banking in over 40 countries.
Reynolds has focused on risk during his career. For the past three years, he was head of regulatory risk and compliance for RBS Americas. Before that, he worked at Citigroup for 10 years in several risk positions including global head of risk and control for the company’s private bank. He also helped to oversee Citigroup Risk Management's regulatory relationships and led the risk integration of KorAm Bank in Asia.
Earlier in his career, Reynolds served in the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency as a credit examiner supervising major U.S. banks.
With 14 offices across the U.S. and Latin America, including its trust company, Barclays Wealth in the Americas provides wealth management to wealthy individuals and families.
