Robert W. Baird & Co. is expanding its San Francisco-area influence with the hiring of a financial advisor team from Credit Suisse Private Banking.

Alexander S. Cushner and Russell P. Huebschle join Baird as managing director and vice president, respectively. Cushner previously oversaw $300 million in client assets and had $2.6 million in annual fees and commissions. Huebschle managed $140 million in client assets and had $1.4 million in annual production.

Also joining Baird from Credit Suisse are David Caillier, a registered client relationship specialist, and Georgiana Andersen, a registered client relationship associate.

Since March, Baird has hired nine new professionals, including five financial advisors, to its wealth management team in San Francisco and northern California. Since 2007, the firm has also made new hires in other businesses in that region, including a co-head of equity capital markets, equity research associates, equity traders and technology and clean technology investment bankers.

Both Cushner and Huebschle have been registered with Baird since Sept. 30, according to registration records with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Cushner had been with Credit Suisse since June 2005, FINRA records show, and previously held positions at Cowen & Co., Lehman Brothers, Shearson Lehman and Sutro & Co.

Before Credit Suisse, which he joined in November 2008, Huebschle held wealth management and institutional equity sales positions at Hambrecht & Quist.
