Robert W. Baird & Co. has continued its San Francisco expansion by hiring financial advisors Jonathan “John” Fitzgibbons and Joyce Linker from ThinkEquity LLC.

Fitzgibbons and Linker previously had almost $2 million in fees and commissions and more than $300 million in assets under management.

Fitzgibbons, who serves as managing director, also previously served in advisory roles at Banc of America Securities, Harris MyCFO, Montgomery Securities and Thomas Weisel Partners.

Linker, who serves as senior vice president, has also held positions at Banc of America Securities and Montgomery Securities.

At the same time, Baird has also hired Katherine “Kate” LeClair from ThinkEquity to serve as a registered client relationship specialist.

The new hires come as Baird has moved to expand its San Francisco and northern California presence. In March, the firm hired Wells Fargo financial advisor Jason Schlesinger, who had $1.3 million in annual fees and commissions, to its San Francisco office.

Baird is also planning to expand with new wealth management offices in other cities including Charlotte, Raleigh and Winston-Salem, N.C.; Charleston, S.C.; Denver; Sioux City, Iowa; Fort Worth, Texas; Sacramento, Calif.; Lynchburg, Va. and Portland, Ore.

Baird has added about 200 branch managers and financial advisors to its private wealth management group since the beginning of 2009. The firm has more than 680 total financial advisors.
