An advisor who managed about $260 million in client assets for Morgan Stanley has joined Baird, the firm said.
Baird also picked up a team with more than $2 million in annual revenues from rival UBS, according to a press release with a roundup of the firm's most recent hires.

The former Morgan advisor, Barbara Woolhandler, joined Baird's Houston office as a director and financial advisor last week, according to the firm. She began her career in 1986 at the brokerage firm Rotan Mosle, according to FINRA records. She joined Smith Barney in 1996, staying through that firm's merger with Morgan.

The UBS team was assigned to work from Baird's office in Fort Worth, Texas. The GCE Group is comprised of advisors Rebecca Gadus, Jeffrey Carroll and Tyson Eubanks. Also moving with the group is Senior Client Specialist Sheri Burns.

Gadus, senior vice president, had been with UBS since 2004, according to FINRA records. Prior to that she worked at Wachovia.

Carroll, vice president, has 22 years of industry experience. He worked at Merrill Lynch from 1992 to 2001, leaving to join Wachovia. He moved to UBS in 2004. Eubanks, also a vice president, has been in the industry for seven years, having joined UBS in 2008.

In Cincinnati, Baird also recruited advisors Richard Tapke III and Julie Dusing from the Bank of Kentucky. Tapke served as a trust investment officer at the bank while Dusing worked as a financial consultant, according to a statement from Baird. Prior to that, the two worked at Tapke Asset Management.

A Baird spokesperson declined to provide AUM figures for the advisors joining from UBS and the Bank of Kentucky.

Milwaukee-based Baird’s wealth management division now has more than 800 financial advisors and more than $100 billion in client assets.
