Baird recruited a $1.75 million producer from Charles Schwab, a firm spokesman said.

Michael McHugh, who was managing about $350 million in client assets before leaving Schwab, joined Baird's Denver office last week, the firm's spokesman said. He reports to branch manager Steve Binder.  McHugh started his career with Schwab in 1997, according to FINRA records.

Baird also said that it had recruited a Wells Fargo advisor, Colin Brooks, in Spokane, Wash., where he reports to branch manager Tom Guthrie. Brooks began his advisory career at Sandberg Securities in 1992, according to FINRA records. He later worked at Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch before joining Wells Fargo in 2010.

Milwaukee-based Baird has more than 800 financial advisors serving clients in 26 states. The firm also has more than $100 billion in client assets.

The firm last announced new hires last month, when Baird said it had picked up a Morgan Stanley advisor managing $260 million in client assets. Barbara Woolhandler joined Baird's Houston office.
