The top 25 cities for retirement

After decades of hard work, clients hope for financial security in retirement. But not all Americans can look forward to it.

Two in three workers reported feeling at least somewhat confident that they will have enough money to retire comfortably, according to the Employee Benefit Research Institute’s 2019 Retirement Confidence Survey, but only 23% said they were “very confident.”

For some clients, the solution is to work longer and retire later. The alternative? Relocate to an area where they can stretch their dollars without sacrificing their lifestyles.

WalletHub compared the retiree-friendliness of 182 U.S. cities across 46 key metrics, including affordability and health care costs. Here’s a look at the top 25 regions.
